How can I help my child?

You’re sitting at the kitchen table with your child, night after night, struggling to help them understand their homework. You are both exhausted, and you see the confusion and frustration on your child’s face. The words spoken, “I HATE school!” “I’m stupid,” “I’ll never get this,” tear at your heart, and you feel the pain as if it was your own.

Grades have been slowly declining, and you see your child’s confidence diminishing. So, you set up a meeting with your child’s teacher, hoping they will have some ideas and provide some relief. They seem concerned, but offer no solutions.

By now you are feeling beyond hopeless.

If your child continues down this path, they might have to retake a class or a grade. Their once love of learning turns to resentment towards school, teachers, learning, and even you. There is a chance they won’t graduate or have high enough grades to reach their full potential as an adult.

Homework and school don’t have to be a daily struggle.

All people have the capability to learn.

Treating your child as a human first, investigating their interests, and asking what they already understand in their classes will be our approach to begin on a new path to understanding. We will work together with your child to identify their unique learning style.

Learning should be fun and accessible to all students, which is what I love doing! I will create a plan distinctive to your child, work with them one-on-one, and work directly with the school when appropriate.

No more long nights at the kitchen table struggling to help and feeling as though you have failed.

Together we can help your child feel successful. We will have your child come home shouting, “I love school!” “I finally get it!” And back to loving learning again.

Together we can help your child feel successful.
